This six week committed group is open to any body interested in a concentrated, multi-layered exploration

of embodiment inspired by Soul Motion®, Open Floor, Gestalt Awareness Practice, Continuum Movement, meditation, and other adventures.

More than a dance class, this is an immersion into the practice of embodied presence. To deepen our inquiry into what it means to be alive in this mysterious and magnificent human body, we travel the multidimensional landscapes of sensing, feeling, thinking and spirit. 90% experiential, the class will include some lecture time also.

WHAT WE WILL DO

Explorations in this series will include:
• movement: with and without music, with and without instruction, with and without partners
• witness practices: inner and outer, solo and in group
• stillness: both alone in silence and in meditative interactions with others
• inquiry and expression: in dyad and triad experiments with breath, sound, movement, words
• sharing & discussion in large group

WHY DO IT

As Krishna Das once said, “We do this practice in order to be alive while we’re alive.”

Zuza has appeared beside me to witness and comfort my tears in moments of despair, challenged me to go further in moments of joy, reminded me of the value of contraction when I expand, encouraged me to expand when I wither, and invited me always to "begin again" when I have given up.
