The storm can only be survived from the center. The work for us is to draw sustenance from the central, eternal space without denying the existence of the storm.
–MARK NEPO
I know it’s hard . . . another week of world wide sorrow and who knows how long yet with restrictions on where we can go and what we can do there. Even I, a recently born again zoomie, am having second and third thoughts.
despair repair? Only love: moving in these virtual contexts held by the intention of so many other stubborn, open, endlessly flexible dancers, a space widens inside me in which I can breathe. open to what in me is shut down. be soft around what is tight and in touch with my heart even when it feels like it has turned to stone.
do not give up: even feeling the despair is better than sitting here incredulously scrolling through another batch of bad news.
whatever you do, we’ve gotta keep on moving.
