Are You a Dreamer?

Of course you are...

Apparently, if we didn't dream at night, we would be psychotic.
(Although, on some days, it's hard to tell the difference anyway.)

Humans have been dreaming since ancient times—since the caves of Olduvai, thousands of years ago. We dream to make sense of this complicated, beautiful, magnificent, confusing, impossible human life.

How else would we:
  • Process everything we're asked to deal with these days?
  • Know what the soul wants?
  • Be in touch with something deeper than the daily grind?

But if dreams are so important, why do they often feel so frustrating?
Why do we wake up grasping for images that slip away like water?
Why do the symbols feel confusing, the meanings elusive?

Maybe you've tried to work with your dreams before. Maybe you've kept a dream journal that eventually gathered dust. Or maybe you're one of those people who says "I never remember my dreams"—and you wonder what wisdom you're missing.

Here's what I've discovered after decades of working with dreams:

Dream work is an invitation into the life of the soul.

Dreams Want to Be Lived, Not Analyzed.

The magic isn't in figuring out what your dreams "mean." The magic is in embodying them.

The magic isn't in figuring out what your dreams "mean."
The magic is in embodying them.

Why do the symbols feel confusing, the meanings elusive?

Maybe you've tried to work with your dreams before. Maybe you've kept a dream journal that eventually gathered dust. Or maybe you're one of those people who says "I don't dream" or "I never remember my dreams"—and you wonder what wisdom you're missing.

Here's what I've discovered after decades of working with dreams:

Dream work is an invitation into the life of the soul.

"I had a dream about a tiger in a hospital hallway. When I embodied her, I discovered she'd been there all along, even in those unbearable early hospital experiences, offering the protection and dignity my young self needed. It was retroactive healing, fifty years after the fact. Something in me was able to finally relax." —Zuza

Inspired by Gestalt and embodied imagination, we don't look for what dream symbols "mean." We look for the lived experience of the dream.

Instead, imagine becoming the tiger in your dream—feeling her power and dignity flow through your body.

Move and breathe as the wind: "I shape what I blow over and what I blow through. I can be subtle, and I can be very powerful."

Or embody the ocean, experiencing yourself as vast, fluid, holding ancient wisdom.

When I tell people I do dream work, they often think I'm going to help them interpret their dream symbols—you know, like what does it mean when you dream about losing your teeth or being chased by a monster?
But that's not what we do here.

So how does this actually work?

Brings the body in direct contact with the present moment awareness.

Allows energy flow, aliveness, access to feeling, and emotional release

Includes big expressive movement and contemplative inner listening.

the

Moving with Life

the secret ingredient: community

Inquires into patterns created to avoid early pain.

Unwinds defenses with compassion.

Opens new possibilities for living.

Always grounded in the body and resourced in Source.

spiritual practice

Allows movement to be doorway to Mystery and prayer.

Connects us to something reliable and always present

Grounds spiritual realization in the body.

Makes the divine human and the human divine

Community is the magical transformative agent here – a community of practice, not your usual social associations.

We're talking about a circle where everybody is held and seen, where we can witness each other in our vulnerability, our emotional imperfection, our relational cluelessness—and love each other anyway.

Over the last three decades, I've woven together three essential practices that create profound transformation when they work synergistically together.

inner work

framework

conscious movement

I can't tell you how many people worry about this!

Any snippet works—a feeling from years ago, a landscape that resonates, an animal presence, even something from a movie.

Because it's you bringing it into the field, it will give you exactly the gift and guidance you need right now. The medicine is customized to your situation.

Our dreams start to interweave, and we become a dream village where the medicine is potentiated for everyone.

You don't need to remember your dreams.

Through movement, sensing, breathing, feeling, you drop directly beneath the narrative of your mind into energetic, creative, unknown aspects of yourself. When you move, those places you've kept closed begin to open.

No dance experience needed—just willingness to explore.

Your body becomes the portal.

I've worked with hundreds of people and done hundreds of sessions, but the dream sessions are the ones I remember. They're like milestones where something shifts at a deep level in the psyche. Then you can make different choices, show up differently in relationships, move differently in the world.

Integration changes everything.

– Maggie Kaplan

What a magical journey into our inner dreamscapes – subtle & intimate, bold & fiery, tender & teary... not so easily accessed in our “normal” lives, but awakened in this liminal movement space. Fluidly weaving our stories into a tapestry of a communal dream village: past, present, future melding and merging... stepping out of chronos time into timelessness and back again. Embodying my animal body I find again my playfulness, gentleness, strength. I am nourished, enveloped, open.

I love the sacred invitation to move freely with a group of soulful humans - in silence and sound, solo and together, small and big ways and waves. Again and again, I am brought to my edges with safety, compassion and joy.
