There have been so many times I have wanted to write, waiting for the perfect situation – but there never seems to be enough time, space, inspiration, or courage. Reminding myself that perfection means no part left behind – i.e. a fullness of life, wholeness of experience, openness to all of it, and not some ideal fantasy that does not exist in nature – here I am!
(If you know this refrain from your own life, stop reading this and make that phone call or write that letter you have been wanting to, except for the situation never being perfect. I will be right here when you return.)
Oh, and here’s another reminder, from Jan Richardson via Lisa Rost:
If you could see
how this blessing
shimmers inside you,
you would never wonder
whether there will be
light enough,
time enough,
room enough for you.
Aaah… such a big breath out. I do seem to be in a state these days, so full of blessings that I can hardly stand myself. This too shall pass, but meanwhile I am eating it up and writing to share with you some of the good news.
To say ‘work’ is almost overstated. We move a lot, breathe a lot, feel a lot, laugh and cry and stomp and fly. Is that work?
No doubt, courage is required, and the willingness to break all kinds of societal taboos: against falling apart, falling on my face, snot in public, asking for help, being seen in my true size and brilliance. And, because the quality of people showing up for this program is nothing short of miraculous, really all we need to do is show up.
In fact nothing I know has made more of a difference in my own life than meeting inner experience directly, with [as] loving awareness.
